Becoming a Registered Importer.
Coleman can assist you in filing the necessary application with NHTSA to become a Registered Importer of motor vehicles not originally manufactured to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards or to add satellite vehicle modification or storage facilities to an already approved site.
Importing a Vehicle for Show or Display
Coleman can assist you in filing the necessary documentation to establish that a vehicle possesses sufficient historical or technological significance to warrant its importation for purposes of show or display.
Importing a Vehicle for Research or Demonstration
Coleman can assist you in filing the necessary application to temporarily import a nonconforming vehicle or equipment item for purposes of research, investigations, demonstrations or training, or competitive racing events.
Importing Autonomous Vehicles
Coleman can assist you in filing the necessary application to import nonconforming vehicles with automated driving systems or other advanced or novel technologies for research or demonstration purposes, including the operation of such vehicles on public roads.
Importing Vintage Vehicles
Coleman can assist you in obtaining the necessary documentation to establish that a vehicle is at least 25 years old, and therefore eligible for importation without regard to its compliance with the Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
Manufacturer Requirements
Coleman can assist you in meeting the requirement to register with NHTSA and fulfill other procedural requirements before manufacturing motor vehicles and motor vehicle equipment for sale in the United States.
